Job Openings at Our Oceanside Store


Your Main Objective: To satisfy the customer with service and knowledge, paying attention to their needs and suggesting items to increase our sales.
Customer Service
  • Greets all customers, determines their needs, and helps them find the item or its alternatives.
  • Completes buys, trades, and consignments fully using current buying guidelines.
  • Pays close attention to additional items that can be added to the sale to maximize sales.
  • Explain the Play it Again Sports concept, especially noting that we need their used gear.
  • Use customer service as your #1 tool in preventing theft. We are not here to catch thieves, we want to deter it from happening and maximize our sales.
  • Answers phone professionally and in a timely manner.
Daily tasks
  • Self starts and stays busy even when tasks are not assigned. Does not stand around.
  • Stays out of cash-n-wrap except when needed for specific task or to assist customer.
  • Keep on top of assigned units everyday, this should be your first priority of the day.
  • Follow our opening and closing procedures to ensure the store is in proper order and presentable.
  • Review store appearance, floor, racks, windows, cases, etc. Things are to be kept neat and tidy.
  • Completes projects before moving on, and before end of shift.
  • Ensure all displays are assembled and complete, including tightened bolts for safety. Builds newly received merchandise as it comes in.
  • Review and organize display cases.
  • Keep cash-n-wrap clean and neat and free of clutter at all times.
  • Know who you report to and find out what needs to be done for the day.
Attendance & Appearance.
  • At work, on time, when scheduled, does not cause interruption of staffing coverage due to switching shifts with another associate.
  • Alerts owner when running late or switching shifts with another co-worker, prevents this from effecting store operations.
  • Remembers to clock in and clock out, takes breaks as required.
  • Wears staff shirt and/or other approved attire, is neat, clean and well groomed.
  • Keeps money, keys, codes, and access to critical information and documents secure and confidential.
  • Adapt to scheduling conflicts, changes, and resolutions.
  • Knows our sales goals and where we stand daily and recently.
  • Review inventory levels for replenishment and accurate inventory counts within the pos system.
  • Assist in training and educating of all staff members on procedures and product knowledge.
  • Ensure task lists are created and completed every day, including opening and closing checklists.
  • Reviews buys for accuracy and completion. Notices errors and corrects them.
  • Monitor customer traffic, establish and implement ways to increase it to gain more sales.
  • Report all safety, theft, and injury issues to owner immediately.
  • Maintain sales promotions and signage, ensuring the full communication between the customer and our store.
